There is an important South African Music Industry initiative called Moshito.
It's a music market comprising conferencing, trade-exhibition and show-case. The event is a partnership between the Department of Arts and Culture, City of Joburg and MOSHITO Music Conference and Exhibition. Find out more: www.moshito.co.za

Music Industry Online (MIO) covers the entire music industry spectrum from a South African perspective. There are dedicated sections for dj's, producers, sound engineers, musicians, stage & sound, the recording industry, radio broadcasting, gear, equipment, software & hardware.
There is daily news from around the world, weekly, well-researched feature articles and lots more. There are image galleries which are updated regularly, providing a visual glimpse of the industry and events. MIO also offers writing, editorial and research services to the industry.

NewMusicSA is the South African section of the International Society for Contemporary Music (ISCM). It runs the New Music Indaba festival (which includes the 'Growing Composers workshops' where experienced professional composers work with those emerging in the field) and the Unyazi festival of electronic music.
