Although there are organisations in South Africa which represent various rights of composers,
there is no central body to address general issues and concerns, or to provide help and advice to those not finding satisfaction elsewhere.
There is enormous value in having a forum to express views, exchange ideas and discuss problems.
We composers are often regarded as being disinterested in our rights, to our detriment.
This is a special opportunity to change this.
With the growing support of composers, we are becoming a respected and recognised body, able to negotiate with all of the industry players.
